Flight is an amazing thing! You cross oceans in hours versus months. Yet, one still becomes impatient and restless, especially with fifteen-hour flights. I can only imagine how the early passengers felt crossing the vast Pacific by clipper ship. Anyway, a few muses about the lost day in my life when we crossed the International Dateline, March 21. On the plus side, I enjoyed April 13 twice upon my return.

March 21, Where Did You Go?

The BIG flight approaches
8 P.M. they say
Watching the clock
Hurry! Hurry!

Aboard we go
On time we are
15 hours, Oh my!

Service is good
Vegetarian the way to go
Get to eat first
While others envy

I move my head this way
Then that
Oh my, will this flight ever end?
Hurry! Hurry!

The plane on the screen
Creeps so slowly along
I want to drag it to the finish

Movies become a blur
Drowsiness occurs
In and out I drift
Hurry! Hurry!

International Dateline comes
Over we go
March 21 disappears
Oh well
Hurry! Hurry!

We still have 4 hours to go.
