Brief Summary

This 184 page book, released in October, 2012, consists of vignettes, mostly one or two pages, that provide thoughtful comments on life. They have appeared in Bob's newsletter over the last ten and a half years. As one reader stated, "It is a book that takes you on spiritual journey that includes laughter and narration on his many travels." At times there is a metaphysical aspect as he reflects on life events. You can read it at your leisure, focussing on a vignette that piques your interest at that particular moment.

A sample vignette begins:

A Look into the Future

Do you ever wonder what the future holds? I do. Yes, we are supposed to live in the moment according to many wisdom teachings. I have been a student of yoga for close to fourteen years. Living in the moment is a key concept in yoga philosophy. In fact, some of the asanas (poses) make it very difficult not to be in the present. There are even occasions when you wish you were somewhere else. (Since my yoga instructor often reads my works, I must provide the disclaimer that that situation only occurs occasionally.) But I digress. One of the purposes of being in the present is to enjoy the only time you truly have. The past is past, and the future is not here. No amount of worrying will change what has occurred and likely will not impact what will occur. How often have you worried and worried about something and found that all that energy had been wasted. To paraphrase a quote I once heard, many spend 90% of their lives worrying about things that never happen. Today’s newscasters do a wonderful job of improving our stress levels by prognosticating worst-case scenarios. Perhaps some of the worst violators are the weather forecasters. During our winters in Ohio, there are days when the predictions are so nefarious, one fears going out into the cold where immediate death awaits. . . .
