Special Workday

Today is a workday
.......but special anyway.
Presentation’s over.
Guest luncheon at Rotary refused.
Seated now in elegance
.......at my favorite inn,
.......sipping tea served the old-time way,
.......English teapot and all.
Fire in the fireplace
.......erases the raw chill of November.
No rush awaits,
.......only non fast food
.......to enjoy the European way.
Now on a mini vacation
.......for an hour or so
.......savoring food, the moment, and life
.......on this special workday.

Comments: The day was hectic, the flurries flying, and the driving tense. Suddenly, I remembered that I would drive by a favorite inn on my way back. The decision was made quickly. Thirty minutes later, I was back in time enjoying the pampering service of a fine restaurant, taking time while sipping my tea to put thoughts on paper. Though I was there not much more than an hour, I felt refreshed and ready to take on the afternoon.
