Recommendation for
Vermont & New Hamsphire

Should you decide to travel to Vermont, New Hampshire, or Concord, MA, here are a few suggestions, based upon our very positive experiences, that you may enjoy. (Remember, I receive NO remuneration for recommendations.)

Lodging (Each recommendation targets a different type of establishment. Each is unique and worth a stay.)

a) The Hawthorne Inn is a very special, classy bed and breakfast in historic Concord, Massachusetts. Each room is elegantly furnished with original antiques. The breakfast is scrumptious. Experienced innkeepers Gregory Burch and Marilyn Mudry will warmly welcome you and will provide you with a wealth of knowledge regarding the area. For more information go to http://www.concordmass.com/index.htm

b)
The Grey Fox Inn is located in picturesque Stowe, Vermont. What a friendly welcome we received from Tom! The rooms are nicely appointed and the rates are reasonable. If you like pancakes, the inclusive full-breakfast at the Inn's Dutch Pancake Cafe cannot be beat. (No longer open under this name.)

c)
The Kirkside Motor Lodge, located in Bennington, Vermont, is a small family owned motel with very reasonably priced rooms. This motel differs from others in that each room is uniquely, tastefully furnished. We stayed in one of the recently refurbished rooms. For value, the Kirkside provided one of the nicest rooms on our trip. For more information go to http://www.thisisvermont.com/kirkside

Restaurants (Again, a variety of choices are presented.)

a) Bentley's in Woodstock, Vermont offers a gastronomic selection of food that will satisfy anyone's taste buds. It has survived the years and has been written up by most major gourmet and travel magazines. Besides wonderful food, the prices are reasonable. For more information go to http://www.bentleysrestaurant.com

b)
The Clement Room Grille located in the Woodstock Inn in North Woodstock, New Hampshire offers inventively prepared gourmet fare. The dishes, whether vegetarian, meat, fowl, or fish, are delectable. There is also a micro-brewery on the premises. I enjoyed the food so much, I ate there two evenings. Professional servers provide excellent service. For more information go to http://www.woodstockinnnh.com.

c)
The Wilderness Inn B & B in North Woodstock, NH serves a breakfast to start a perfect day. The muffins alone are worth the visit. Innkeepers Rosanna and Michael Yarnell of this seven room inn primarily focus on their guests. However, if you make reservations the night before, they may be able to accommodate you. It is worth the call. Things are very friendly, informal, and relaxed. For more information go to http://www.thewildernessinn.com
