Recommendations for Hilton Head Island

2006: One would have to look hard to find a poor restaurant on this upscale island resort area. If the service is not there, they go out of business. One that stands out is the Bonefish Grill at 890 William Hilton Parkway Suite #74 (843-341-3772) – http://www.bonefishgrill.com – for fresh seafood served in a casual, yet polished atmosphere. It is in the moderate price range with service in 8.5 range and food in the 8+ range. One of the best kept secrets is First Presbyterian Church's Sunday catered lunch for $8 per person. Wonderful food and fellowship – a chance to feed the soul and the stomach. The church is located at 540 William Hilton Parkway.

2007: Hilton Head Island – One has to look hard to find a poor restaurant on this upscale island resort. If the service is not there, they go out of business. A new recommendation and a favorite of locals is Mi Tierra Authentic Mexican Restaurant (160 Fairfield Sq. – just before the Cross Island Bridge toll road – Ph. 843-342-3409). The name says it all! Very reasonably priced.

2008: Hilton Head Island – There were no new restaurants recommended this year. You have many good ones to choose from. However, sadly, I had to remove two from my earlier lists, a popular restaurant whose service has gone drastically downhill and a handmade doughnut shop that is under new ownership (not nearly the same level of service as our visit last year.)
