There are many wonderful restaurants from which to choose. In fact, Patrick and I walked up and down the street looking at menus. (The Strand has many of the nicest restaurants in Tauranga - about a 4 minute walk from the Durham Motor Inn.) What brought us back to the Soho Restaurant was the woman who took time to tell us about the delectable food served there. She was right. While we never officially got her name (In NZ the servers do not introduce themselves as so often happens in the States.), I have a sneaking suspicion she may have been one of the owners, Nicky Cogman. Anyway, we had excellent service; a wonderful selection of New Zealand and Australian wines, both by the bottle and glass; and a scrumptious variety of provincial cuisine. I enjoyed a seafood pasta that evening. Oh yes, be sure to save room for dessert. The dining experience that evening was five-star. (Those who know me know that I don't award that lightly.)
