Doyle's has been a popular eatery for decades. I ate at the original restaurant twenty-one years ago on my first visit to Sydney. Today, there are three to choose from - all high quality. Fine seafood is what they built their reputation on. If you have never had John Dory, a very mild sweet fish, you should try it. Doyle's chefs are famous for how they prepare it. Pictured below is Doyle's at Campbell Cove. |

If the weather is nice, enjoy eating out under one of the umbrellas.

The Don Quixote Restaurant was a wonderful dining experience. When we arrived around 6:45, the place was almost empty. By 7:30 the place was packed. We appeared to be about the only people in there not of Spanish descent. The Australian Spaniards were having a great time - obviously a local favorite! I ordered the vegetarian Paella (Paella - Spanish national dish). It was magnifico. The service was by career waiters. A selective, reasonable wine list provide the appropriate accompaniment. One of the finest meals of the trip! I want to go back. People watching was as enjoyable as the dining.
The restaurant is located in the Spanish Quarter several blocks from the Hilton. Regrettably, I did not take a picture. However, a business card is provided for your reference.

The AMP Tower Restaurant offers daily meals. However, if you are in Sydney on a Sunday, the luncheon buffet is the way to go. Expect a wide variety of excellently prepared food. But, the food can't compare to the 360 degree views on a clear day. Since the restaurant revolves, be careful about setting a camera or purse on the outer edge - it will leave you...:-) |
