Lightfoot Restaurant, Leesburg, VA: On a side trip on the way to visit our son Craig in Maryland, we stopped in the historic town of Leesburg. What a pleasant community to visit on a sunny afternoon! Based upon AAA recommendation, we had lunch at the rather formal Lightfoot Restaurant. The grilled four-cheese sandwich accompanied with the tomato bisque was a gourmet taste treat. (Yes, to wax elegantly on a cheese sandwich may sound a bit strange, but trust me, it was beyond mere word description.) The restaurant has stood the test of time. In speaking with several locals, this fine dining establishment maintains a high reputation as the place to eat. If you are ever near Leesburg, I suggest you give the restaurant a try. Let me know your thoughts if you have also eaten there. Also, pictured is the Leesburg Courthouse. |
