Recommendations
for
The Keys and Ft. Lauderdale

My recent trip to the Keys was my fourth. I returned to many of the places and restaurants that I had visited before. On the whole my recommendations remain as in the past. However, one was removed due to closing and another was modified due to extremely slow service. Frankly though, because of the laid back atmosphere in the Keys, service is often a bit slow. Just expect it. To read those recommendations, please click here.

This trip generated some new recommendations. They are as follows:

John G's in Lake Worth (north of Ft. Lauderdale) – unbelievable breakfasts and lunches. Only go there if you are hungry. The servings are huge

B.O. Fish Wagon in Key West – great place for lunch – busy, funky, and fun along with very good food.

Ma's Fish Camp Restaurant at MM81.5 – Michele served us the award winning Key Lime Pine. Some argue it is the tastiest piece of pie in the Keys. I agree!

Enjoy a delicious lunch along with calypso music at the Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant. (It is across the road from Ma's.) This restaurant franchise has grown into a small chain. The Islamorada property was the first restaurant in the franchise. Expect flaky, mild tasting fish.

Please take a look at the online book and gift page.

Along the Ft. Lauderdale canals and the multimillion dollar homes – the best way to tour
these scenic waterways is via the city's water taxis.
